Student Health Fair and Virtual Dementia Tour

Del Mar College Nurse Education students will host a fun, interactive Health Fair to showcase concepts they studied this semester.

Learn to have fun on a way to a healthy lifestyle with a hopscotch memory game, shooting hoops for mobility, play fun Wii activities associated with different skills and taking part in a nursing student simulation designed to raise awareness of motor difficulties associated with Parkinsonís disease.

Other activities include basic health screenings.

If you have a family member with dementia, you can gain a greater understanding about their reality by taking a sensory tour offered by the Collegeís Nurse Education Department.

The Virtual Dementia Tour is an individual experience through simulated dementia. Families, organizations and companies seeking to better understand the physical and mental challenges of those suffering from dementia will gain better insight by taking the tour.

Participants will have the option to take the tour during the fair from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the DMC East Campus Harvin Student Center on Ayers at Kosar or in Room 113 of the Health Sciences Building 1 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the Collegeís West Campus at Old Brownsville and Airport Roads.
