DMC Women’s History Month Display: “Trailblazing Women”
Description:

Del Mar College celebrates Women’s History Month by recognizing great local, regional, world or personal women who have impacted the lives of students.

Get acquainted with some “trailblazing women” shared by English 2341 students who wrote short descriptions about the achievements of a woman of their choice.

All are encouraged to view the display and read the fascinating vignettes located in the atrium of the Coles Classroom Building.

The display will remain available through March 30.

This month-long event is free and open to the public.

[1:00pm-2:30pm] War and Remembrance: Combat Veterans Share Perspectives on Conflict in Vietnam
Description:

Del Mar College’s Department of Social Sciences and the Mexican-American Studies Program will host a roundtable discussion focusing on the experiences of local combat veterans during the Vietnam War.

Several combat veterans will share their individual experiences about their tours in Southeast Asia, and panelists will answer questions about their varied perspectives of the war.

Discussion will place special emphasis on their family backgrounds, military training and combat experiences, along with how their view of the war has changed over time.

This event is free and open to the public.

[2:00pm-6:00pm] Free Tax Services Provided by DMC Accounting Students
Description:

It’s tax time, again!

Trying to make sense of the different filing forms can be a struggle.

And, paying for an accountant to prepare returns may not be part of your budget.

Del Mar College students trained in tax and accounting software will provide free services (first come, first served) for area filers who make less than $50,000 per year.

This free service is offered through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program.

This services is available every Tuesday and Thursday through April 13 (except during Spring Break, March 13 to 18), from 2 to 6 p.m.
