The deadline to apply for spring graduation for the May ceremonies is Tuesday, February 28.

The U.S. Small Business Administration will conduct a no cost seminar to explain the SBA’s Small Business Certifications. The 8(a) Business Development program, the HUBZone, and the new Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) contracting programs will be explained for small businesses seeking federal government contracts. The certifications provide business assistance for small disadvantaged businesses to compete in the federal market place. Eligibility and requirements for these certifications will be discussed along with information on no cost technical assistance available from Del Mar College Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC). Learn how SBA’s 3 C’s –Capital, Counseling, Contracting programs can help grow your small business!

[7:00pm-8:30pm] Guest Speaker Sasson Reuven Presents “Raid on Entebbe”

Guest speaker Sasson Reuven, a member of the commando unit that took part in the legendary "Raid on Entebbe" is sharing his story about the 1976 rescue of 106 passengers kidnapped off a hijacked plane and held hostage in Uganda.

The rescue is one of the most spectacular rescues ever documented.

Reuven was born in Israel in 1954 and joined the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in 1973.

He volunteered with the Red Beret/Paratrooper 890 brigade unit and participated in many missions during his three-year army stint.

This event is free and open to the public.
